Here’s a spot we just love. It’s warm, relaxed and spacious, the food is consistently delicious and Mamma just cannot get enough of the coffee! It’s the perfect spot for a meal with the fam, you’ll feel more than welcome visiting this family-run cafe with little ones in tow.
The rustic interior and eclectic decor reflect the history of the building - which dates back to the 1850s - with many existing elements remaining. As part of Coburg Penitentiary, prisoners once made boots and shoes here for prison staff. The Watchtower still looms overhead.
These days though, it’s serving up an amazing array of menu items with All Day Breakfast and Lunch staples like Big Breakfasts, Eggs Benedict, Smashed Avo (with a twist!) and Burgers but there are also some interesting options like Ramen, Fish Tacos, Burritos and Fried Chicken. We love that there’s something for everyone even when you’re all craving something completely different. There’s a great menu for the kids too.
Mamma’s special mention: Check out the new Pentridge Shopping Centre while you’re right in the area - there’s a supermarket, cinema, cafes, specialty shops and even a playground onsite! For play on a bigger scale, you’re also right near Coburg Lake Reserve!
