to be frank, brunswick east

If you know Mamma, you know we love a good bakery — and I mean the real deal. So when I hear that To Be Frank Bakery opens a brand new spot in Brunswick East, I may or may not do a little happy dance (OK fine, I totally do). We’re already big fans of their original Collingwood store — so much so that it’s part of our family’s weekend ritual.

Now with this new location just a little closer to home (hello, sleep-ins and less driving!), it feels like a dream come true for this carb-loving Mamma. And yes — Mamma has already been there a heap of times… and trust me, you will too.

Let me tell you why we’re obsessed:

First up, their hot cross buns are legendary. Mamma is not exaggerating — during the Easter season, you’ll find me lining up early, coffee in hand, ready to snag a box (or three). Soft, fragrant, just the right amount of spice… and if you toast them with a little butter? Heaven.

But it doesn’t stop there. Their range of bread is next level — crusty, chewy, golden perfection every time. And don’t even get me started on the scrolls. Sweet or savoury, they’re all ridiculously good. Mamma always goes for the carbonara scroll, and let me tell you — it’s everything you can imagine. Creamy, smoky, cheesy, with that perfect doughy base. Honestly, it’s worth the trip for that alone.
