collingwood childrens farm, abbotsford

Collingwood Children’s Farm offers a taste of country life just a few short kilometers from Melbourne CBD. When you stand in the middle of this little farm, it is hard to believe you are in such close proximity to the centre of the city. This farm is believed to be the oldest working farm in Victoria, with details of European farmers working the land here since 1838. It is a perfect spot for your little ones to explore and for a family adventure!

The grounds are beautiful, with opportunities for all manner of animal interaction. Meet a muddle of guinea pigs, chase some chooks, pet one of the cows or say hello to the sheep, chat to a horse and get up close with a flock of the most affectionate goats. It doesn’t stop there though - be sure to have a potter in their market vegetable and flower plots, take in the native food garden or take a moment for craft activities and a book-nook in the barn.

Guided activities run throughout the day on weekends and holidays, but cluster a little earlier on school days–be sure to check the timetable and map at The Barn before you head further into the farm to explore! There are lots of picnic tables, so pack a lunch or stop by the Farm Cafe, which is a pretty good choice for all visiting the farm or just walking past.

Having a party under the Children's Farm marquee sounds like a blast, with extras including face painting, private sessions with a pony or guinea pigs, and a party wagon.
