artistry24, thornbury

Upon first glance through the window on High St Thornbury, Artistry 24 is a bright open art space, full of rich materials and natural resources to get adults and kids creativity flowing. However, there is even more to this space that meets the eye, it really is “a studio of possibilities”.

Head out the back and you’ll find a light studio and a creative play space that the kids are just going to love! This is where Playgroup sessions for children 18 months to 5 years are held and where they construct their own play! There are heaps of loose parts, lights, mirrors, play boards with pegs, elastics, ball runs, velcro, and more that all encourage exploration, creativity, problem solving and fine motor skills. All Mamma had to do during this session was sit back and watch the kids enjoy themselves, the only struggle was getting the kids to leave when it was time to go! They were so immersed in their play here that Mamma had promise to bring them back again soon.

For school aged children, Artistry24 hosts after-school term Workshops where children are encouraged to imagine, investigate, construct, and reflect through art. These hands-on workshops enable them the opportunity to learn new art processes and discover new techniques resulting in inspiring and unique artworks.  Each term will offer new and exciting possibilities such as printmaking, woodwork, natural art processes, clay, photography and more!

All Playgroup and Art Workshops can be pre-booked online, however on Saturday mornings Artistyry24 offers open studios sessions. Playgroup sessions from 11:00am-12:00pm and Art Workshops for school-aged kids from 1:00pm-2:30pm. Feel free to pop in off the street and check out this amazing space. Bookings can be made through their website, which is where you will also find the Playgroup and Art Workshop timetables and details of their school holiday programs as well.

Mamma’s special mention:  Hecho en Mexico is also on High St, pop in for a feed!
