heide sculpture gardens, bulleen
/If you're keen to stretch your art and culture legs but not sure if your kids are ready for a gallery, then Mamma says pack your picnic rug and explore the Sculpture Gardens on the stunning grounds of the Heide Museum of Modern Art.
Entry to the gardens and surrounds is FREE, and best of all, you can soak up some fab pieces of art and never have to be worried about the noise your super excited toddlers can make running through a gallery.
Little Mr 1.8 soaked up the large gardens and explored the sculptures with what seemed like no boundaries, yet Mamma was by his side. He loved every moment and occasionally waved to the local wildlife flying by.
The sculptures vary in size and style and are scattered throughout the property - it makes for a beautiful game to see how many different things the kids can spot. If you are after a little more direction as you explore the parks, check out the resources available on the Heide website to give you some ideas on what to look for.
