bundoora homestead art centre, bundoora

See an art exhibition, join an art class or enjoy a fresh scone with jam and cream, all within the beautiful heritage architecture that is the Bundoora Homestead Art Centre. This public art gallery in Bundoora displays local artists' work that is free to explore and hosts children’s art classes during the term, from Like Mind Studios.

The homestead cafe is open daily, 11am-3pm, and serves up scones, cakes and coffee, as well as some light lunch options. Mamma can recommend the sausage roll with salad and relish! Delish!

You can sit inside but on a beautiful day mamma suggests sitting out upon the wide verandah and letting the kids run around on the grass, so you can enjoy a moment of peace before the food and drinks come out, and take in the view of the charming gardens. There is also colouring supplies for the kids to use at the tables, as they may be feeling inspired after viewing some of the exhibitions! High chairs are also available for little ones!

Important to remember that while the homestead is child friendly, most of the art here is not interactive and children must always be under the supervision of a parent. Prams may get a little tricky to maneuver around the homestead, especially on the second level so mamma’s tip would be to pack the baby carrier when coming along with bubs!
