dinosaur garden @ oasis berry farms, steels creek
/Not your average berry farm! Oasis Berry Farms really lives up to its name, with stunning gardens, its very own Treasure Island, and a colossal dose of prehistoric wonder.
Let the fearsome roars guide you as you venture into the Dinosaur Trail. This place really transports you to another time, giving off major Jurassic Park vibes as you discover a new cretaceous creature around every corner. Get ready to rub shoulders with a stegosaurus, track down baby hatchlings, and stare down the indomitable T-Rex.
Then, for a change of pace you can head over to the Miniatures Garden, a whimsical paradise filled with magical gnomes, fairies, and other charming creatures. It's a pint-sized haven for the little ones to explore and soak in the enchantment.
But that's not all, me hearties! Embark on a swashbuckling treasure hunt all the way to Treasure Island. If luck is on your side (mamma believes in you) and you uncover some gleaming riches, you’ll be able to exchange a coin for a special prize back at the farm shop.
For a perfect day trip, we’d recommend packing a picnic lunch and stocking up on treats while you’re there. Snag yourself some freshly picked punnets, jams, and locally-baked cakes that are bursting with the farm's very own berries. Grab a coffee, and find a cozy spot to picnic amongst the greenery. Lawn games are available to keep the kiddos entertained too.
Before you leave, be sure to take a stroll around the property; the conifer, rose, and tropical gardens have been landscaped to perfection and aren’t to be missed.
Steels Creek is a teeny tiny town and has a few dirt roads on the way, and this little adventure is best added to a visit to Yarra Glen or day trip into the Yarra Valley. Also, Oasis isn't a u-pick farm. With so many adventures on offer though, I think we can happily leave the berry-picking to the professionals!
