Relatively new to the farmers market scene, Alphington Farmers Market is developing its own personality and the vibe is friendly and relaxed. Located at the Innovation Centre, it’s a space jam packed with delicious produce, awesome coffee, tantalising free samples and a focus on sustainability.
There is live music, face painting for the kiddos and it’s also dog friendly (on lead). Mamma just loves a family stroll through the stalls sampling cheese, fresh breads, flavoured oils and even wine! There's delicious Turkish street food, Japanese breakfast, fresh home made jams and honey and you can also pick up your fruit and vegetables for the week while you’re at it! Then head to the Streat Coffee stall to grab a fresh croissant or escargot with a takeaway coffee, guilt free, as all the cups and crockery are reusable with a ‘wash your own’ system in place (before items are taken to be sterilised) and returned to the stalls - it’s as if they’ve thought of everything! On the way out Mamma loves a freshly squeezed juice to wash down all the delicious food!
This market is particularly great because it’s on EVERY Sunday! So no checking the calendar to see which Sunday of the month it is! Yay!
