Toy libraries are just one of Mamma’s favourite inventions. Not only do they save your house from being permanently filled with discarded toys, help the environment on the sustainability front, save you heaps of money and keep the little ones minds ticking with new and engaging activities but they ALSO provide a great hub for community spirit. The Moreland Toy Library is run by a roster of dedicated volunteers, many of whom are local parents and toy library members too. There’s always a friendly face to greet you and to help you select what you are after.
There are over 2000 toys to choose from with options for babies, toddlers, primary school kids and games the whole family can enjoy. Toys are grouped in themes making it easy to find your chosen items. Mamma particularly loves the array of musical instruments and the ride-ons and scooters but we’ve also had a great time with mini shops and theatres, counting and stacking toys, puzzles and costumes! It’s fun to see how childrens’ interests change as they grow.
Mamma’s special mentions: The Brunswick West location is right next to Jacobs Reserve playground, perfect for a little post library play.
The Pascoe Vale spot is next door to Pascoe Vale Outdoor Pool which has a shaded learner's pool and toddler's water play feature.
