It’s here … it’s finally HERE. The world’s most complete Triceratops, which we now know by the name Horridus, has arrived and is on display at Melbourne Museum. This is the forever home of this incredibly well preserved specimen and we are so lucky to have it right here in Melbourne.

You’ll find this guy just beyond the original Dino residents at the Museum, and after you walk through a floor to ceiling video display of the other plants and creatures that were also alive during the Cretaceous period - that was over 67 MILLION years ago. But once you spot Horridus, it is hard to peel your eyes away! The pure size of this creature is impressive - you would not have wanted to meet this dinosaur in real life.

The display is very dark in parts, with our hero being illuminated in the spot lights so little kids may need a hand to hold as you walk around this truly significant skeleton. There are some interactive displays where you can get nice and close to other bones and artefacts upstairs as well as seeing the Triceratops from a different perspective.

Triceratops: Fate of the Dinosaurs is a permanent display at Melbourne Museum and can be seen with a general admission ticket. Bookings are recommended before your visit to ensure entry.
